FAQ
You have questions. We have answers. Here are a few of the most common topics.
What exactly is the FamilyCare Support System?
It's a 30-day, done-with-you caregiver support program for anyone who's been suddenly thrust into caring for an aging or ill parent. You get a personalized plan built around your specific situation, a dedicated FamilyCare Advisor who walks it with you, and a structure that turns an overwhelming list of decisions into one you can actually work through, step by step. Also, you get access to over 80 videos, worksheets, and other tools to help you along the way.
Who is this designed for?
People who are newly in the thick of it, usually within the first few weeks or months of caring for elderly parents, who are still holding down a job and a household on top of everything that just landed on them. They have a ton of decisions to make and are feeling overwhelmed. If you're the one everyone's looking at to figure this out, and you're ready to start making progress instead of just staying up all night researching things by yourself, this was built for you.
How does the 30-day program actually work?
It starts with a discovery process that maps your situation: your parent's current status, your most pressing decisions, your schedule, your finances. From there, you get four one-on-one sessions with your FamilyCare Advisor over the month, plus two extra calls if something urgent comes up in between. You'll also have full access to our resource library, videos, worksheets, and checklists covering the full range of caregiving challenges, and can join weekly group Q&A calls throughout the 30 days, on top of help building your caregiving team and a financial scorecard session. Every session with your advisor picks up exactly where the last one left off.
What happens during the free Caregiver Clarity Session?
You talk with a FamilyCare Advisor about what's actually going on, no rehearsed pitch, just your real situation. By the end of the call, you'll have your top priorities sorted, clarity on what you can hand off to someone else, and at least one concrete next step. Whether or not you join the full program, you'll leave that call with real movement. Book your session now.
Do I need to prepare anything before that first call?
Yes. Before your call, we'll send you a link to the online Caregiver Clarity Worksheet, fifteen minutes to get everything swirling in your head down on digital paper. Fill it out prior to your call and your advisor will use it to jump straight into what matters most instead of spending the first part of the call just getting oriented. It's a small ask, and it makes a real difference in how much ground you cover together. Filling out the worksheet often provides a bit of relief by itself.
Is this medical, legal, or financial advice?
No. This is education, structure, and guidance. Your FamilyCare Advisor will never tell you what to do with a parent's medication, how to draft a legal document, or how to invest a retirement account. What we will do is help you know what questions to ask, point you to the right kind of professional, and make sure nothing important falls through the cracks while you find them. The financial session works the same way: educational, not investment advice.
How is this different from searching online, a Facebook group, or asking ChatGPT?
Those sources can give you information. None of them know your situation. Your parent's current status, your finances, your schedule, the decision sitting in front of you right now. They answer the question you knew to ask and miss the ten behind it that nobody warned you about. A FamilyCare Advisor looks at the whole picture and tells you what to do next, in your situation, not the general version of it.
How is this different from hiring a specialist directly, like an elder law attorney or geriatric care manager?
Specialists are valuable, and you'll likely need some of them. But each one knows their area of expertise deeply and not much beyond it. The attorney knows the legal side. The care manager knows the facilities. Neither one is looking at your whole landscape, financial, legal, medical, logistical, emotional, and telling you what matters most this week versus what can wait. That's what a FamilyCare Advisor does, including helping you figure out exactly which specialists you need and when.
Do you offer a guarantee?
Yes. Show up to your sessions and follow through on your action steps. If you don't have a completed financial scorecard, a prioritized action plan, and a caregiving team started by day 30, we'll keep working with you at no additional cost until you do.
What does the program cost?
We talk through the investment on your free call, once we understand your specific situation. What we can tell you here is what it costs to stay in chaos: one missed VA benefit, one forced guardianship proceeding, one wrong facility decision, any single one of those typically costs more than the program itself. Families without a plan are often looking at $80,000 to $300,000 or more in exposure they never saw coming. We'd rather walk you through real numbers for your situation on the call than throw a price at you with no context.
What happens after the 30 days?
A lot of people ask this, and it's a fair worry: caregiving doesn't wrap up neatly in a month. The 30-day program is built to get you from chaos to a clear, working plan. By the end, you'll have the structure and the confidence to keep handling what comes next on your own.
But you don't have to do it alone if you don't want to. For people who want continued support, there's an optional ongoing program, monthly group Q&A calls, the resource library, and a community of others walking the same road. It's month to month, totally optional, and we'll tell you about it near the end of your 30 days. No pressure, no automatic enrollment. If it's helpful, it's there. If you're ready to fly solo, you will be.
Still have questions?
Of course you do, this is a lot, and no FAQ page can cover everything you're facing. That's exactly what the call is for. Explore more on your own, or just talk it through with someone who knows the way.
